10 Detestable Movie Villains We Never See

It would be impossible to write this list without including Bambi, given that it features one of the most-hated unseen movie villains of all time. 

We're talking of course about Man himself, a human hunter who ends up shooting and killing poor Bambi's (Donnie Dunagan) mother.

Yet we never see Man - we only hear his gunshots and see the aftermath of his violent act, allowing him to basically represent humankind and its cruelty towards animals in one fell swoop.

This sort of restraint is the last thing most would expect from Disney. 

Far away from the larger-than-life antagonists the Mouse House is best known for, Bambi's villain is simply a human being enacting their will upon nature with a bullet.

By keeping Man off-screen, we're denied ascribing almost all specificity to him whatsoever, making him a far more universal blank slate of a villain as a result.
