It's right there in the title, see, Batman first emerging in a series titled Detective Comics. And yet, one aspect of Batman's personality we've barely seen explored on the big screen is his status as World's Greatest Detective (sorry Sherlock). And no, that piddling about with the bullet in The Dark Knight doesn't count. So give the Batman a mystery worthy of his talents - a whodunnit like Hush (ugh), The Long Halloween, or The Court of Owls (a twit-twoodunnit, if you will). We've seen every other side of Batman - surely now it's finally time for him to put his detective skills to the test and solve some crimes, rather than have them just happening around him while he reacts with a kick, punch or expertly timed Commissioner Gordon in a Batmobile. It's something The Animated Series balanced well, and there are far worse ideas than following the example of what many consider to be the best iteration of the character to date (see Mask Of The Phantasm). Don't worry, you can still have him beat someone up at the end of it all. Agree with this article? What else needs to be included to make a new Batman trilogy awesome?
