10 Directors And The Superhero Films They Should Make

5. Christopher McQuarrie - Nick Fury

Mission Impossible: Fallout is the best serious spy movie of probably the last decade. It was gripping, explosive and fresh - qualities that stemmed primarily from Christopher McQuarrie's direction.

It would be a shame if that direction remained exclusive to Mission Impossible though, as it would work incredibly well with other franchises, such as the MCU.

For a superhero-based universe, the MCU features a large amount of spies. The most famous of these is Black Widow, but that character is already receiving her own film and that film already has a director, leaving Marvel's second most famous spy, Nick Fury as the ideal candidate for McQuarrie's talents.

Fury is a character that would allow McQuarrie to go in a fair few directions - from sci-fi (through S.W.O.R.D and the Skrulls) to a more traditional spy adventure (via S.H.I.E.L.D) - giving the director a little more freedom of setting than Mission Impossible does.

It's quite a wonder that Marvel, in all their savviness, haven't set this in motion yet.
