10 Directors And The Superhero Films They Should Make

6. Denis Villeneuve - Batman Beyond

With perhaps the exception of Alex Garland's Ex Machina, Blade Runner 2049 is arguably the best cyberpunk film of recent years. Imagine then, if the director of that film, Denis Villeneuve, took on DC's cyberpunk version of Batman.

Batman Beyond, though set in a world with similarities to Blade Runner, is not exactly known for its exploration of the deeper meanings of life so a movie adaptation of it likely wouldn't match the high-brow nature of Ridley Scott's universe.

However, the style and complexity that Villeneuve managed to bring to 2049 would mean that the DC property would be in good hands artistically - and perhaps could even be elevated to a point closer to Blade Runner, if WB and/or Villeneuve were so inclined.

In any case, Michael Keaton must be brought back to play the older Bruce Wayne if such a movie were ever to be made.
