10. Doug Liman
Why should Liman join the DCCU? Liman paid his dues making comedies like Swingers and Go, but his breakout directorial effort was The Bourne Identity in 2002. Following that, Liman directed the absurd actioners Mr. & Mrs. Smith and Jumper, neither of which are exactly cinematic masterpieces. Still, Liman has showed skill with large-scale thrillers, and his next two projects - the sci-fi flick Edge of Tomorrow and the survival epic Everest - could promise a return to the brilliance of the first Bourne film. Add to that a fair bit of name recognition and a decent amount of controversy surrounding his status as Hack or Genius, and Liman could follow Snyder and make his films fit with the initial Man of Steel arc. The two directors are quite similar in that respect - some love their films and others loathe them, but pretty much everyone wants to check them out.
What should Liman direct? The spy thrillers Bourne Identity and Fair Game suggest Liman could direct a slightly more grounded DC outing like Green Arrow or something in the Bat-verse, but the success of Edge of Tomorrow could line him up for a sci-fi venture like Adam Strange.
