10 Directors For Star Wars Episode 9

10. Edgar Wright

Ant Man Edgar Wright Best known for his outrageous Blood and Ice Cream trilogy (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz and The World's End) and the superb Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, Edgar Wright has categorically proven that he can nail effects-heavy action, and has a singular, hilarious sense of humour to boot. The mixture of an impeccable eye for set-pieces and rib-tickling wit makes him a prime candidate for Episode IX, though it's fair to say that he might need to rein his flamboyant, signature style in a little to conform to the standards of a $200-million-plus blockbuster. That would be the major question mark here, as going by his shocking recent departure from Marvel's Ant-Man over "creative differences", it's entirely possible that he wouldn't be willing to play ball, even for Star Wars. That said, if he's not writing the film and merely working as a director for hire, perhaps he would feel less violated when asked to conform creatively. How Likely Is It? 6/10
