10 Directors For Star Wars Episode 9

9. Joe Cornish

Joe Cornish Edgar Wright's pal Joe Cornish made a name for himself directing British cult sci-fi flick Attack the Block, which coincidentally enough also starred Episode VII cast member John Boyega. In addition to this, Cornish also co-wrote The Adventures of Tintin and the upcoming Ant-Man, and was widely tipped for the Star Trek 3 directing gig after J.J. Abrams left the franchise for Episode VII, even if the job ultimately (and controversially) went to Roberto Orci. Had Cornish actually landed the Star Trek job, he'd be much higher on our considerations list, but because he's still relatively wet around the ears and totally untested in the blockbuster arena, it may simply be too much of a gamble for a movie this important. Still, don't rule him out entirely, and his upcoming war drama Section 6 just might be able to prove what he's capable of on a larger canvas. How Likely Is It? 3/10
