5. Ben Affleck
Ben Affleck is another favorite after The Town and Argo. Both films are very grounded and realistic, so you may question whether or not he can pull off a good Batman. The trick, however, is that Affleck likes comic books. Why else do you think he chose to be in Daredevil? (btw, that film gets a bad rap. Watch the Director's Cut version. That version is good). Affleck's films, again, are very grounded and realistic. This is more similar to Nolan's style -- maybe even moreso. However, the plus side to all this is that, as a fan of the character, Affleck would probably try to incorporate as much of the original material as possible, while still remaining fairly grounded. For example, his Joker probably would look like he does in the comics, complete with bleached skin...but he'd figure out an explanation as to why. His Batman would be an incredible crime fighter, complete with crazy gadgets, but he would also be fairly grounded, and, most likely, the world's greatest detective. Yeah, eight Batman films, and the only one where he is a real detective is the Adam West film (though '89 and The Dark Knight shows he does some detective work). While it may be weird to admit that Affleck would make a good Batman director. There were rumors, at one point, that he should play Batman...but no. Stick to directing, good sir.
