10 Directors Who Could Replace Josh Trank On Star Wars

Edgar Wright’s writing partner took the world by storm with his surprisingly heartfelt alien invasion flick Attack The Block. After his stunning debut, people have been waiting for him to get back behind the camera in any way, and helming a Star Wars film could make for one hell of a return.

The real appeal of Cornish is his ability to blend together legitimate scares, jokes, and social commentary. His stylish approach and use of practical effects (the aliens in Attack The Block were giant puppets) are another huge asset. And it’s worth noting that he’s the one who first gave John Boyega a leading role, paving the way for him heading up The Force Awakens' cast.

He was long considered to direct Star Trek 3, both before and after the Orci debacle, and fans were disappointed when he didn't get it. Unfortunately, his refusal on Star Trek likely has something to do with creating his own work, and he’s signed on to direct Section 6, a spy thriller. Still, dare to dream.

Connor loves movies, comics, and TV, and is trying to write for people who feel the same way. When he's not sitting on the couch with his laptop, you might find him lying in his bed with his laptop.
