10 Directors Who Have Never Made A Good Movie

9. Paul W.S. Anderson

paul-ws-anderson-680x450 Filmography: Shopping, Mortal Kombat, Event Horizon, Soldier, Resident Evil, Alien Vs Predator, Death Race, Resident Evil: Afterlife, The Three Musketeers, Resident Evil: Retribution Not (and I repeat NOT) to be confused with brilliant auteur Paul Thomas Anderson of Boogie Nights and There Will Be Blood fame. This Paul Anderson has made a living out of directing video game adaptations such as Resident Evil and Mortal Kombat and producing the Dead or Alive adaptation. It's safe to say all three movies have no redeeming qualities and it's hard to argue that Anderson isn't the lead perpetrator. After the botching of Alien Vs Predator it didn't seem possible for Anderson to get much work as he managed to ruin two iconic movie characters in one movie and the movie was dull. Think about it, he made a movie that starred Alien and Predator and made it dull. That takes some talent. Anderson is married to actress and frequent star of his films Milla Jovovich - which explains why she keeps getting so much work. Anderson continues to find new ways outdoing himself - Jason Statham vehicle, Death Race is an over-violent travesty and the never ending Resident Evil sequels bring a bad name to cinema. We're currently on the fifth one and they show no signs of inching anywhere near mediocrity, let alone decency. His films are mindless trash that deserve to be in a £1.99 bin at a petrol station yet they have $100 million budgets and are usually the big release of the week when they come out. Constantly savaged by critics and anyone with a brain, yet he continues to have great financial success and no trouble finding a project as he has numerous upcoming films.
