10 Directors Who Have Never Made A Good Movie

8. Brian Levant

Screen shot 2013-01-23 at 09.43.43

Filmography: Problem Child 2, Beethoven, The Flinstones, Jingle All the Way, The Flinstones in Viva Rock Vegas, Snow Dogs, Are We There Yet?, The Spy Next Door None of Brian Levant's movies could be confused for anything resembling good. His entire output is a string of kids movies that punish the viewer and make you wonder if Brian Levant hates kids because that has to be the only explanation as to why he is so consistently bad over such a long period of time - over two whole decades in fact. The only people who would get the slightest amount of satisfaction from his movies are those too young to understand what is going on - not a good niche if you want to sustain a long career in movies - yet somehow he has managed it. Brian Levant committed many unforgivable acts in his career - Jingle All the Way, Snow Dogs and The Spy Next Door to name but three. But the worst thing he ever did was ruin great actors such as John Goodman, Ice Cube and Jackie Chan as he directed them to death in his lowest common denominator trash. He made Goodman uncool and cheesy. Then drained the legendary rap star of his charisma and made him the least likeable thing on screen - some achievement given that the film in question is Are We There Yet? And then his inexcusable treatment of Jackie Chan in The Spy Next Door is something no director should ever come back from, but Levant will find a way, as he always finds a way to release more diabolical films into the world.
