10 Directors Who Should Have Their Filmmaking Rights Revoked

9. McG

mcg600 Art is a funny old thing; it is often said that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Or, to put it in a blunter way - one man's gold is another man's shit. An opinion on a director is simply that; an opinion. McG certainly tests all theories surrounding opinion, with movies that are seemingly so empty and void of any charm that they may make most who watch feel robbed of intelligence. There are only two situations where it is perfectly acceptable to give yourself a nickname like McG:A) If you are in jail, or B) If you are a rapper - Joseph McGinty Nichol is neither. Sometimes in Hollywood, the logic goes out of the window and someone, somewhere, gives guys like McG a chance in film making. This wouldn't be so bad if talent wasn't brimming in all corners of the globe, desperate to break into the scene. But the issue is not McG himself, box office figures will tell you that that the movie-going public need a crass, ineffective, horror show 'comedy' like 'This Means War' more so than it needs intelligent cinema. McG, amongst others, represents everything that is wrong with cinema today. Film making by numbers, money making gimmicks, tick boxing action sequences, loud annoying crass characters who explode in a cacophony of noise in front of your very eyes - for people like McG, we only have ourselves to blame. He is simply a poor man's Michael Bay, and that's saying something. Also, anyone who gets head butted by Bill Murray (allegedly) deserves to be on this list. Best Film: Terminator Salvation (2009) Most Recent Travesty: This Means War (2012)
