The IMDb Top 250 isn't the most reliable judge of movie-based quality, but for anybody interested in getting to grips with the cinematic medium... well, it's a good place to start. The IMDb Top 250 - that's to say, the top 250 highest-rated films on the website as voted by members - is unusual in the sense that nobody really knows how it works. At least, not exactly. Members of the website are responsible for voting movies into their positions, yes, but there are other more mysterious factors at play - how long somebody has been a member, for example - that effects the outcome. So whilst the list can certainly be used as a guide to knowing which films are worth watching, it's probably also better used as a means of finding out the most "popular" movies, as opposed to the "best" or "greatest" motion pictures of all-time. You'll also find that the Top 250 tends to represent certain directors massively. What follows, then, are the 10 directors (in order) with the most movies in the Top 250, starting with the director with the least entries. Some of the directors included here probably won't surprise you - though there are a couple whose inclusions might prove curious to anybody who has an idea in their head of what to expect.
