10 Disastrous Movies That Actors And Directors Still Haven't Recovered From

8. Brandon Routh - Superman Returns

The so-called 'Superman Curse' doesn't seem to have affected his successor Henry Cavill who currently headlines one of the most popular TV shows on the planet and played a memorable supporting role in the massively successful Mission: Impossible - Fallout, but things haven't been quite as rosy for Brandon Routh.

The actor was only 26 when Superman Returns was released, and while it didn't launch the franchise that Warner Bros. were hoping for, Routh's performance as the title hero was decent enough to indicate that he might have a bright future as Hollywood's next square-jawed all-American leading man.

Unfortunately, that never happened and he quickly fell into obscurity despite playing one of the most coveted and iconic roles in cinema, although he's recovered fairly well by embracing DC once more and finding himself as a key player in the small screen Arrowverse in recent years.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
