9. Heart Ripped Out - Indiana Jones And The Temple of Doom
Steven Spielberg was no stranger to shocking moments of violence in his own films back in 1984. The Indiana Jones movies are all about rip roaring adventure and action. Sure theres some gun play and fist fights and some blood here and there but absolutely nothing prepared audience members for the moment in this PG rated movie when cult leader Mola Ram shoves his hand into the chest of a human sacrifice and rips out his steal-beating heart. It was a graphic moment that caused controversy eventually leading the MPAA to add a new rating: PG-13... For a comedic take on the shocking sight of a mans heart being ripped out see Dumb & Dumber.
