10 Disliked Actors Who Still Keep Getting Work

8. Taylor Kitsch

A couple of years ago, working life must have looked pretty rosy for Taylor Kitsch. Off the back of his long-running role in NBC series Friday Night Lights, Kitsch secured marquee roles in big-budget actioner Battleship and Disney tentpole John Carter. He also got the opportunity to work with Oliver Stone on brutal drama Savages. At the start of 2012, it seemed like it was going to be the year of Taylor Kitsch. Then, all three of those movies completely failed to hit the mark with either critics or audiences. John Carter, in particular, was a poisoned chalice for the Canadian actor. Disney spent in excess of $250m on the dismal, effects-driven blockbuster and ended up losing around $100m as it limped through the box office. The film was supposed to kick off a trilogy, with Kitsch in the lead role, but its reputation as an unqualified failure soon put an end to that. Disney moved on, and director Andrew Stanton left the universe behind to make Finding Dory. Kitsch hasn't really recovered from his year of bombs, but he is still appearing regularly in supporting roles. Most recently, he portrayed an ill-fated military man in nail-biting wartime thriller Lone Survivor and has performed several times in big TV projects.
