There's always a lot of baggage attached to models who become actors. Often, it can feel as if they have been placed in films as eye candy rather than due to their acting chops. With that in mind, the casting of Megan Fox as the female lead in the Transformers franchise was an interesting one. She had appeared in several films before, but every lingering shot of her rear end betrayed Michael Bay's true intentions. Whether her poor performances in those films were down to Bay or not is unclear, but her talent was certainly overshadowed by her director's voyeurism. Fox is an actress who has been consistently cast in films as eye candy rather than as a rounded character. She even chose to parody this aspect of her character with a showing as herself in The Dictator. This has caused a resentment towards her acting, given that she is repeatedly hidden behind leery camera shots and typecasting. It seemed like Fox was going to take a step away from Bay and towards more interesting work when she allegedly compared the director to Adolf Hitler. However, with Bay producing her current movie Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, it seems that Fox is going to continue doing more of the same.
