10 Disney Movie Details Only Grown-Ups Would Notice
4. Miss Piggy, However, Does Care About How Much You’re Packing
Yes, Muppet Treasure Island was primarily a Jim Henson Company production but Disney – being the huge corporation it is – has a finger in every pie and that includes this Muppets-shaped pie too. Which sounds kind of dirty considering the context but, anyhoo, onto the real filth.
Based on Robert Louis Stevenson’s Treasure Island, the movies sees the Muppets take to the high seas in search of some long-lost treasure that happens to be on an island in case the title wasn’t clue enough.
Their arrival on the titular island sees Kermit the Frog reunited with his love Miss Piggy but it turns out that in his absence the porcine diva had relations with a certain Captain Flint – a captain who is decidedly homo sapien. As if frog-on-pig sex wasn’t disturbing enough, we now have images of human pirate-on-pig fornication floating around our heads too.
It doesn’t end there either. After confessing her interspecies sexual transgressions, Tim Curry rocks up as Long John Silver wearing a sh*t-eating grin and is greeted by Miss Piggy with a “Hello, Loooooooooong John”. It’s hard to be certain but it seems Miss Piggy is saying Long John Silver is long by name and long by nature if you catch my drift. Which explains that sh*t-eating grin.
