10 Disney Villains Who Went Beyond Evil

9. The Evil Queen (Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs)

Here she is – the original Disney villain. No fairytale is complete without a wicked presence of some sort and Snow White’s example of an evil queen is what set precedent for all the future antagonist characters, not just for Disney, but in any fairytale or pantomime story.

Queen Grimhilde, commonly known as The Evil Queen, ticks all the boxes for what we’ve come to expect from the typical Disney villain. She’s got her own secret lair, her own animal sidekick, a magic mirror, potions and spells galore, transformation skills to turn herself into a form most ghastly and of course, the classic poison apple. Allegedly during the premiere of Snow White, her performance was so scary that it made children literally wet themselves.

The Queen strives to remain the most beautiful of all. She’s made life a living hell for Snow White, her step-daughter. And when she finds out it’s Snow White who is the fairest of all, she sends out a huntsman to kill her stepdaughter and bring back her heart.

Snow White is 14 years old, by the way.

After learning that the Huntsman brought her back the heart of pig, Queen Grimhilde takes matters into her own hands by very dramatically turning herself into an ugly old witch, with a chilling cackle and a horrific stare that will burn right through you. In her disguise, she poisons the innocent Snow White – her own step-daughter, just a child, all if it means being fairest of them all.
