In 1985, New Line Cinema quickly followed up on the monumental success of Wes Craven's hit original, but this time replacing Freddy Krueger's murderous intent with a desire to possess the body of victim Jesse (Mark Patton) - which inevitably led to all sorts of homo-erotic subtexts.
