10 Doctor Who Actors Who Were In A Marvel Studios Property

Along with Matt Smith, Karen Gillan helped reboot the long-running sci-fi series playing Amy Pond, the first companion to the Eleventh Doctor. The character captured the attention of the fans with her romantic love for the Doctor whilst also tackling the fact she is about to get married to her fiance, Rory Williams.

Gillan hung around in the TARDIS for several years before her character was zapped back in time by the Weeping Angels where she spent the rest of her life with Rory.

After leaving the show Gillan appeared in a few other TV shows including the short-lived American sitcom, Selfie alongside Star Trek star, John Cho. Gillan will never shake off the Whovian fan-base but she has managed to collect a few more thanks to her role in Jame Gunn's first instalment of Guardians Of The Galaxy as Nebula. As the adopted daughter of the intergalactic tyrant, Thanos and adopted sister of Gamora, Nebula was a huge step away from the role of Amy Pond.

Gillan did return to play her most loved character one last time in Matt Smith's last outing as The Doctor in the episode, The Time Of The Doctor. At the time of filming this episode, Gillan was already into production on Guardians Of The Galaxy whilst Smith had started work on a new feature film, both of which required the actors to shave off their hair. This means in their last onscreen appearance together both actors were wearing wigs.
