4. Don't Be Fooled By "The Cage"

Nicholas Cage is an anomaly of sorts. We know he can act. He's proven himself in "Moonstruck," "Leaving Las Vegas," and "Adaptation." He's also pissed off a lot of Ghostwhips (hardcore Ghostrider fans, you heard it here first) by making "Ghostrider," "Drive Angry," and "The Sorcerer's Apprentice." It's not that he's been in bad movies, it's that he keeps making them. Let's compare him to a fellow actor who's been around as long as he has. Sean Penn. They were both in "Fast Times At Ridgemont High," oh how rivers diverge. Penn has been a little over 50 films, has delved into documentaries, directing features, and is known as quite the actor with 5 Oscar noms and 2 wins. Cage has been in over 60 films, closing in on 70, has been nominated twice by the Academy and won once. He's known for changing his name from Coppola to Cage, having extravagant spending habits, having a Korean wife, and naming his son Kal-El. What this means for you is even though Cage may be coming out every other month with a crappy movie, the chances that those movies will be good are very slim. So when you see a poster with his face on it. Forget about Don't #10 and Do #8, avoid at all costs.
