2. Do Have Expectations

Please. Please. Please have expectations. Standards of some sort. Do you know what we get when we have none? We get "Alvin and the Chipmunks" and their stupid squeakquel. We get "The Smurfs" and their sequel, or smurfquel. We get terrible movies because Hollywood doesn't expect the average movie goer to have expectations. Or they assume we expect the worst, if so, then thanks a bunch. I'll see your "Yogi the Bear" and raise you an "Aliens and Predators vs. Freddie and Jason." Whenever you're choosing something whether it be a new shirt, phone, or shoes, you have expectations of that new product. You expect it to be worth your time, worth your money, and to do what you paid for it to do. Movies are entertainment, but they're also a form of communication and all movies have a message. You expect them to. The way the messages come off are different hence good movies and bad ones. So when you choose a movie, expect something out of it. Once you have an expectation of a movie, you can go in and watch intently for those expectations to be fulfilled. The more expectations an audience has, the better the product will evolve over time.
