10 Dream Actor/Director Collaborations

9. Lynne Ramsay and Amy Adams

ramsey adams Lynne Ramsay's films are very tough going and she is a very single-minded woman who refuses to compromise her artistic integrity, but she is the finest female director in the world today. Her last two films - Morvern Callar and We Need to Talk About Kevin - are rare films in the fact that a woman is the lead in an interesting role. Samantha Morton and Lynne Ramsay were the stars of Morvern Callar and We Need to Talk About Kevin respectively and both gave sensational performances that were wrongly overlooked during awards season. For Ramsay to team up with an actress as great, versatile and popular as Adams, it could be the necessary platform for her to get the recognition she deserves. Adams has the outer strength that Ramsay seems to look for but also the underlying vulnerability that her characters seem to occupy. Adams is also never one to shy away from challenging roles and no doubt if she collaborated with Ramsay, it would be in a daring, intellectual picture. A collaboration between Ramsay and Adams wouldn't just be good for cinema fans but also for women's cinema which is so often overlooked and this pair are two of the most powerful and respected female voices in cinema.
