10 Dream Directors For Hollywood's Biggest Franchises

4. Phil Lord And Christopher Miller - Marvel Cinematic Universe

This could be a tricky one. Phil Lord and Christopher Miller have history with Marvel, by virtue of writing Sony's still-untitled animated Spider-Man movie set for release in December 2018, as well as serving as executive producers. They also have experience dealing with Disney, which infamously resulted in the duo being fired from the Han Solo spin-off with just weeks of shooting left.

Given their contentious relationship with the Mouse House, Lord and Miller may be reluctant to work with Disney ever again. However, from a purely hypothetical standpoint, they would make excellent additions to the Marvel Cinematic Universe's stable of talent.

The filmmakers have made a career out of turning bad ideas into great movies through a combination of inventive humor, clever writing and passion for the material, traits that would make them ideal recruits for the MCU's ever-expanding mythology and suitable for tackling any number of the studio's projects.

You could easily imagine the duo making a great Spider-Man solo movie, embracing the weirdness of Doctor Strange, taking a crack at one of the Cosmic Universe projects in development or even turn the potentially-laughable Namor into a quality blockbuster. Hell, let them make a Beta Ray Bill movie if they want to, as long as it gets them on board.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
