10 Dream Directors Who Would Nail The Next Bond Film
2. Edgar Wright
While Wright would probably bring a bigger sense of humour to the Bond universe than has previously been present, he would also bring a tonne of screen awareness.
Given the amazing way he shot action in Baby Driver, Wright could easily make the car chases the star of his take on Bond, whilst also using the fist fighting directing he employed for Scott Pilgrim vs The World to create an exciting and fresh Bond.
Humour has always played some part in Bond, but to see it become more of a fixture would feel new, and bring Bond to the level of recent blockbuster films of the genre, specifically Mission Impossible: Fallout, which managed to blend comedy in to the film without undermining the threats or destroying the overall tone of the film.
Wright manages to hit hard when he needs to in his comedies, such as in Shaun of the Dead when Nick Frost's Ed is bitten. He's incredibly capable of blending tones to drive his films forward from set piece to set piece.
