6. Making Arnie The Main Character - Terminator: Genisys
No, that's not a typo; they're actually calling it that. 2 Fast 2 Furious now seems positively genius. After the successful switch from villain to hero in Judgement Day, the Terminator franchise hasn't really known what to do with Arnold Schwarzenegger; Rise Of The Machines just retrod the previous film while Salvation fell to obligation and thew in a CGI cameo. Now with the fifth film in the franchise, a sort of reboot of the whole thing, he's going to be the protagonist of the whole thing. This time around Arnie plays a Terminator stuck in the past (probably left there by the same guy who snuck the egg onto the Sulaco before Alien 3) who must fight to save Sarah Connor, Kyle Reese and John Connor because after McG's attempt the franchise really needs to appeal to the fans. The idea itself is cool and all, but putting Schwarzenegger as the lead (as all material thus far released suggests) would be a mistake. He may be able to act a damn-sight better than most of his eighties action hero contemporaries, but that doesn't mean he needs to be the driving force of the plot. Even in Terminator 2 when his role was greatly expanded he still acted as a supporting character; there just isn't enough depth to the T-800.
