7. Making It A Justice League Prequel - Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice
Is there anything cooler than the idea of Batman duking it out with Superman? Obviously the answer is no. But that hasn't stopped Warner Bros. and D.C. from trying. Coming with the dull subtitle Dawn Of Justice and also featuring Wonder Woman, Aquaman and Cyborg Batman V Superman has slowly morphed into a full-on prequel to the studio's planned Justice League movie. And you really have to ask why; all this does is pull focus away from the only reason anyone would go see a sequel to Man Of Steel. We get Warner are desperate to try and make something that isn't The Dark Knight that can rival Marvel, but having Bruce Wayne and Clark Kent fight is enough. Marvel never had a film that was a blatant prequel to its big team-up. Whenever they were setting up key elements (Loki in Thor, the Tesseract in Captain America) it was always as part of a bigger story). In fact, the film that is most blatantly placing pieces, Iron Man 2, is by far the weakest entry in the whole of the MCU. Warner Bros. have recently moved the film's release date to March, away from the 6th May date it shared with Captain America 3. You can understand the studio being scared following the success with Guardians Of The Galaxy, but they needn't have been if their film had just been freankin' Batman versus freakin' Superman.
