2. Halloween III: Season of the Witch (1982)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zKNIqG9J2KU It's A Sequel To...Halloween II (1978) Despite making Halloween II a movie about Michael Myers, somebody decided that Halloween III should throw a curveball right into the faces of the stupid, dumb audience members who wanted to see it. This could (and would) be achieved by crafting a sequel that had nothing to do with the original movies at all. That's to say, the original "plan" with the Halloween movies was to make a new entry every year that told a completely independent story. But why start that at the third entry? If you've gone ahead and made a sequel to the original movie that continues that story, then it's a bit too late to change it up on the third - especially if you're calling it Halloween. Well, did they at least make a good stand-alone movie? I'll let you be the judge of that when I tell you that Halloween III is about a guy who creates some, uh, "masks: that can have the power to kill you... but only if you're watching TV. Do you like that idea? Good, isn't it? They should have made the first Halloween movie about that idea, I think. Anyway, the most bizarre thing is that Halloween went back to being about Michael Myers for about a zillion more installments when everybody went apeshit over this thing having existed. So now there's this weird movie about killer masks right in the middle of the Halloween franchise for no good reason at all.
