10 Dumb Movie Trailers That Ruined The Film's Ending
9. Your Highness (2011)
Your Highness was battered by everyone from the critics to the cast themselves, with star man James Franco going on record as saying that the film sucked. Not that it would have made a huge difference, but the fact that the outcome of the film was there for all to see in the trailer couldn't have helped its chances of success.
The movie follows daring and dashing Prince Fabius (Franco) and his useless brother Thaddeus (Danny McBride) as they embark on a quest to rescue the former's bride-to-be from a warlock hell-bent on impregnating her with his dragon seed. Along the way they meet Isobel (Natalie Portman), a nomadic warrior who is also on the hunt for the evil warlock. Thaddeus, despite being way out of her league, is smitten.
The biggest questions we should have been asking ourselves after the trailer is will they rescue Franco's captive love, and will McBride get the girl. The answer to both of those questions is an emphatic yes, and you don't need to watch the movie to find this out. In a blink and you'll miss it moment, the brothers are seen returning to their city triumphantly with Fabius' rescued bride in tow.
That moment was never really meant to be noticed, but the moment that comes towards the end of the trailer you simply can't miss. With McBride back home after the quest and finally alone (his words), Portman shows up and confesses that she feels the same way, showing us what is literally the last scene in the movie in detail.
