10 Dumbest Deaths In Comic Book Movies

7. Joker's Victims - Batman 1989

How They Die

As part of Joker's assault on Gotham, he stages an impressive parade, complete with giant balloons and a float that he dances on. Naturally, Gotham's citizens are captivated, especially as he starts throwing money at them - right up until the point where Joker lets off his Smylex gas and they start dying.

Batman saves the day by flying the balloons away with the Batwing, but some have already perished before he can do so.

Why It's Dumb

Now, some of Gotham's residents are less than genius, which is partly why they need a protector in the first place, but surely you'd think they might react slightly differently to Joker's parade than this?!

Joker is not in hiding at this point: he hasn't exactly disguised the fact that he is a murderous psychopath who delights in using his Smylex gas on victims. Flocking to him simply because he's got big pretty balloons and nice music (because he starts throwing money AFTER the crowd is gathered) is like turkeys volunteering for Christmas dinner duties.

As soon as anyone saw most recognisable face in Gotham - a wanted criminal who killed lots of people in the museum and literally signed his work - they should have turned on their heels and ran away.
