10 Dumbest Decisions Ever Made By MCU Villains
5. Wanda Mentioned America Chavez By Name
After first appearing in the MCU as a villain at the side of Ultron with a grudge against Tony Stark, Wanda went on a journey through becoming an Avenger, one of the strongest there were no less, to losing everything and ultimately coming full circle back to villainy in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
With her newfound power as the Scarlet Witch, Wanda was using the Darkhold to track down the children she created whilst in Westview, New Jersey. There was a universe somewhere out there in which Billy and Tommy were alive, and there was a key to finding them.
Thanks to her unique and unparalleled ability to jump between universes, America Chavez became a target of Wanda’s. She wanted to take America’s power from her to enable multiversal travel to her children. Needless to say, this wouldn’t have ended well for America herself. After saving her from a huge tentacled monster in New York, someone that Wanda herself sent after America, Strange went to Wanda for help.
The Scarlet Witch suggested he send America to live with her so she could keep her safe, but the master of the mystic arts hadn't previously mentioned the child’s name. This gave away Wanda’s ulterior motive immediately. Had she kept the name to herself, Strange would have likely sent America to Wanda without batting an eyelid.
