10 Dumbest Decisions In DCEU History

2. Lex Luthor Unleashed Doomsday

As far as ridiculous villainous plans go, Lex Luthor’s in Batman Vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice is up there with the best. Seemingly holding a grudge against anyone with any kind of power, believing being both powerful and good to be impossible, he set about ridding the world of Superman.

On the one hand, he provoked Batman into hating Superman, stealing his Kryptonite, and trying to kill him with it. He then tried to ensure the fight to the death by sending Superman to kill Batman. However, behind all of this elaborate plan was his intention to bring to life Doomsday.

Described as an ancient Kryptonian deformity, he surely had to know that nothing good would come of its release. And yet, Luthor set the beast free anyway, and got his wish. Superman was killed while taking out the monster.

This led to a world without Superman, and a world without Superman was more vulnerable than ever to threats from the stars above. Steppenwolf would never have attacked when Superman was alive, but the Man of Steel’s death thanks in no small part to Luthor essentially invited any and all invaders to Earth for easy pickings.
