The Blair Witch Project is the classic found-footage film about filmmakers Heather, Josh, and Mike who venture into the woods to find the paranormal entity known as the 'Blair Witch'. But the more they try to find answers, the more they lose their sanity as they're slowly consumed by the woods.

The group's final fate can be attributed to Heather, for which she takes full responsibility near the end of the film. To start, despite warnings from local fishermen that the area is haunted, she insists on taking things further and going deeper into the woods. Our central trio do so without any preparation or backup in case they get lost, which they eventually do. Heather even gets overconfident and insists that it's impossible to get lost in America. At the same time, her need to record footage as a coping mechanism leads to a rift and some verbal spats between her and her colleagues.

In the end, Heather's hubris gets the better of her, which causes the events of the picture. But through the real-life Heather Donahue's earnest performance during the famous apology scene, even stone-faced viewers will feel sympathy over her final fate.
