10 Dumbest Decisions In Spider-Man Movies

2. Peter Kissed Gwen Stacy

In Sam Raimi's third Spider-Man film, Peter enjoys the fact that the city that once labeled him a menace now loved and celebrated him. He basked in the glory, and it went right to his head. In the first act of the movie, he winds up saving a group of people, including Gwen Stacy.

Now, in the comics, Gwen Stacy was Peter Parker's first love, but the Sam Raimi movies focused on the relationship between Peter and M.J. Still, Spider-Man managed to make an impression when he saved the young woman, so when a ceremony was held in his honor, she was there.

Before heading to the stage, Peter has a few words with M.J., who expresses some concern about his attitude of late. He basically dismisses her and puts on his costume. He then swings onto the stage to a great deal of applause, and he truly eats it up.

When he and Gwen are on the stage, Peter has the bright idea to kiss her right then and there, but it's no peck on the cheek. He hangs upside-down and kisses her in exactly the same way he kissed M.J. in the first movie. That was a seriously stupid move, and M.J. was less than pleased, to say the least.
