10 Dumbest Horror Movie Decisions (That People Survived)

4. Breaking The Barrier Keeping La Llorona Out - The Curse Of La Llorona

The Curse of La Llorona Sam
Warner Bros.

This one's so unconscionably stupid it's likely to have you screaming at your TV - even if you're not the kind of person that typically does that.

In last year's The Conjuring spin-off The Curse of La Llorona, it's established late in the movie that special seeds can be spread across the threshold of a building to stop the titular ghost from entering.

And so, with these seeds spread at all the entrances to her house, it seems that Anna Tate-Garcia (Linda Cardellini) and her family are safe, right?

Except, Anna's spectacularly idiotic daughter Sam (Jaynee-Lynne Kinchen) realises she left her doll outside the threshold, and while reaching to grab it, accidentally breaks the line of seeds, allowing La Llorona to grab her and very nearly drown her.

Even for the low-logic standards of children in horror movies, this was absolutely infuriating. Let's be totally honest - she didn't deserve to live.
