10 Dumbest Horror Movie Decisions (That People Survived)

3. Trying To Electrocute The Entity - It Follows

Though It Follows is one of the most creatively eerie horror films of the last decade, it's not without its silly moments.

Namely, protagonist Jay (Maika Monroe) and her pals coming up with the hilariously inane plan to kill the seemingly unstoppable entity by luring it into a swimming pool and electrocuting it - using Jay as bait, no less.

Predictably, though, the entity sees through their plan and just starts throwing the electrical devices into the pool, damn-near electrocuting Jay herself in the process, before also attempting to drown her.

Granted, the heroes are high-schoolers here, and writer-director David Robert Mitchell has stated in interviews that he made their plan intentionally stupid to reflect that.

He said, "It’s the stupidest plan ever! It’s a kid-movie plan, it’s something that Scooby-Doo and the gang might think of, and that was sort of the point."

While the movie's ending ultimately leaves the entity's fate ambiguous, Jay at least survives to the end credits. Given the risky pool stunt, though, she probably shouldn't have.
