10 Dumbest Predictions About Star Wars: The Force Awakens

9. Luke Is Kylo Ren

Adam Driver is playing Kylo Ren. Mark Hamill is playing Luke Skywalker. It€™s as simple as that. They aren€™t the same character €“ they€™re two entire different people who look, sound and behave entirely differently. Everyone should be able to see that, but, for some reason, they can€™t. One of the more off-the-wall fan theories doing the rounds is that Adam Driver€™s villainous Kylo €“ seen wearing a mask in all the trailers €“ is actually Mark Hamill€™s Luke in disguise. According to this theory, it€™s Luke that wants to continue his father€™s work by turning evil and reconstructing the Empire from the ground up. This one€™s unfathomable on several levels. As mentioned in the previous section, turning Luke evil would lessen the importance of the previous six Star Wars films, and thus seems like an unlikely call for Abrams to make. Also, introducing a new, younger villain is a smart move to ensure the longevity of the Star Wars cinematic saga. Most importantly, we€™ve already seen Kylo Ren with his mask off, thanks to the Vanity Fair photograph embedded above. Notably, he looks nothing like Mark Hamill. Case closed.
