10 Dumbest Sci-Fi Movie Decisions (That People Survived)

7. Thor Running Straight At Loki In Marvel's The Avengers

Aliens James Cameron
Walt Disney Pictures Studios

Thor and Loki grew up playing tricks on one another, though Loki was far more mischievous than his brother. He was able to do this because he embraced magic early in life. At the same time, Thor focused on physicality and becoming a warrior.

Thor is undoubtedly a great fighter, and when it comes down to it, Loki can take care of himself. Still, as the two grew older, their relationship became more... contentious. Loki wanted to knock Thor out of the way to assume Asgard's throne, and he headed to Midgard to make that happen.

In one scene, Thor rushes his brother to try and stop him, but he ends up passing right through. This wasn't the first time something like this happened, and Loki's use of this trick had been revealed earlier in the first Thor film. Still, he gave it another shot, and it worked.

After Thor rushes Loki, he winds up in a glass prison designed to contain the Hulk. Thor absolutely should have known better, and he could have died when the cage smashed into the ground. Even Loki was a bit surprised he fell for the old trick, going so far as to ask, "Are you ever not going to fall for that?"
