Star Wars is easily one of the most rrecognisable franchises and popular culture icons of all time. From the opening crawl, to John Williams' masterful score, to Darth Vaders iconic image and presence, to the harrowing tale of good versus evil, it has captured the hearts and minds of millions of people around the world. However, not everything about Star Wars has been so great. Despite the series interesting story and characters, there have still been some problems in the series. Some characters and moments in some of the films have left viewers scratching their heads, while other scenes were so unusual they felt completely out of place. In fact, some moments were nothing more than sheer stupidity. This article will look at the dumbest moments in the key Star Wars movies - the six official episodes that have been released thus far. As such, no Clone Wars or Expanded Universe material will be included. Though one of the most frequently criticised aspects of the Star Wars films has been its dialogue (something that George Lucas himself admitted he had difficulty writing), this article will focus mainly on plot holes and storyline issues - the other things have been done to death.
