10 Dumbest Star Wars Movie Moments

4. Yoda & Mace Windu's Collective Obliviousness

Episode II featured one of the most significant points in Anakin Skywalker€™s life: the death of his mother. It has even been claimed by some observers that this was the exact moment that Anakin's turn to the Dark Side had truly begun. He completely disregarded his Jedi teachings, and gave in to hatred and aggression - a different Anakin was born. As this occurred, Yoda sensed that €œyoung Skywalker is in pain€ terrible pain€, yet he and Mace Windu did nothing. They were fully aware that Skywalker was the €˜vergence€™ spoken of in the Prophecy, and that as such, his fate was critical to the balancing of the Force. Yet, there was no concern on their parts after the dramatic events that Anakin had experienced. In Episode III, Skywalker discussed his premonitions with Yoda, who told him to let go of his feelings. He said this despite knowing about Skywalker€™s troubled emotional state regarding those he loves; the Master must have known he was susceptible to anyone who could help him save those close to him. Had they offered him some kind of actual help with his problems, they could€™ve properly countered Palpatine€™s growing influence on him, and at least delayed the eventual turn to the Dark Side.
