http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XdHWD2ozahI Matthew Vaughn's 2010 film Kick-Ass opens with the scene of a young man adorned in a super-hero costume complete with helmet and wings stood atop a skyscraper whilst an apparent inner-monologue informs the viewer that "at some point in our lives, we've always wanted to be a superhero" before the would-be champion of justice hurtles toward the ground in a vertical dive. A crowd of onlookers below clap, applaud and shout encouragement, waiting for him to change direction and soar majestically into the air, only... He isn't a real superhero, his costume sucks and he can't fly, and ends up slamming into a parked taxi in a crumpled sprawled out mess. Painful.
