10 Easter Eggs You Didn't Notice In Marvel Phase 2

2. Adam Warlock's Cocoon - Thor: The Dark World

The mid-credits scene to Thor: The Dark World is strange enough already, with the mere presence of Benicio del Toro kitted out in a peculiar blonde wig and absurdly tacky outfit enough to give us nightmares for the foreseeable future. As this was our first glimpse at how Guardians of the Galaxy would be eased into the MCU, it was also sure to be ripe with easter eggs, one of which hides in plain sight at the very beginning of the scene, as Lady Sif and Volstagg enter The Collector's lair. It's not grasping at straws to suggest that the above shell-like object is in fact the cocoon belonging to comic book character Adam Warlock, which he would famously use to regenerate after nearing death. Given that Warlock is the proprietor of the Soul Gem, one of the very Infinity Stones that The Collector is looking to take possession of, it seems likely that this was a very deliberate reference, and even if it's not followed upon in Guardians of the Galaxy, leaves the door wide open for him to appear some time down the line.
