Through the mercy of sharing the edit with so many characters, Will Smith's Deadshot managed to escape the Suicide Squad movie virtually unscathed. As is not the case with certain other villains from the film, there's actually an appetite in the air for more on-screen antics from Smith's assassin with a heart of gold.

Warner Bros has noticed this, and according to The Hollywood Reporter they're "looking into a spinoff". Presumably, Will Smith signed on for multiple movies when he agreed to join the DC Extended Universe, which puts him in a tricky position now - he's duty-bound to star in whatever film Warners come up with, in a shared universe where the Rotten Tomatoes scores get worse with each new release.

The last thing Smith needs is another stinker on his CV, especially one with a massive profile. Maybe he can push for a producer credit, take some creative control and ensure that top writing and directing talent are brought in. Whatever it takes, Smith needs to pull out all the stops and make sure the Deadshot movie doesn't suck.
