Yeah, nothing else was going to go here, was it?

"Injustice" doesn't even begin to describe the way Deadpool was handled by the creative team on X-Men Origins: Wolverine, as the character was both figuratively and literally butchered for no apparent reason. Sowing the Merc with the Mouth's mouth shut, whilst ironic, makes absolutely no sense to those who were acquainted with the character, nor do the arm-protruding spikes, forever cementing this iteration of the character as an example as to why change for the sake of change is never a good strategy to live by.

Deadpool's treatment in Origins isn't the sole reason as to why the film tanked, the rest of the film manages that well enough by itself, but it does demonstrate the lowest low of the X-Men franchise, one that it has struggled to recover from since.

This version of the character has been crucified by fans for nearly a decade now, with Ryan Reynolds himself even joining in on the fun to a hilarious extent in both Deadpool (2016) and Deadpool 2 (2018). If you're a fan of the comic version of the character, then you'll need to skip this movie in order to keep your admiration of Deadpool intact.

If it ain't broke, don't even try and fix it, or you'll be branded a heathen by the fans.

Cameron Morris hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
