10 Embarrassing Comic Book Movies That Ruined Beloved Characters

2. Catwoman - Catwoman (2004)

Jonah Hex 2010
Warner Bros. Pictures

This film constantly shows up on lists of the worst films of all time, let alone worst comic book adaptations, and there's no prizes for guessing as to why that may be. Practically every single conceivable aspect of this film has been shunned in reviews prior, from a bad script and poor visual effects, to Halle Berry's performance and that costume.

The film features absolutely no familiar aspects from the comics; no Selina Kyle and no connection to any of the other DC films that were released before it, a creative decision that would be on par with just punching the fans straight in the gut. You'd be inclined to think that the director of this movie had never actually read a Catwoman comic book before making this film, and you'd be right, as the director himself practically admitted as much in interview during the movie's release.

Watching the film would leave any fan with a sour feeling afterwards, as well as the desire to burn all comic books on sight out of an intense feeling of shame. This film should be viewed as an important lesson to all; if you're planning on making an adaptation, read the source material, at least.

Cameron Morris hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
