Sally Field is a two-time Academy Award winner, three-time Emmy winner, as well as one of Hollywood's most beloved leading ladies of the past 40 years.

Her role in The Amazing Spider-Man and its sequel, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, seemed like a perfect fit for her. Playing Peter Parker's warm and supportive Aunt May, the first of the short-lived cinematic iteration of the wall-crawler was Field's highest grossing release at the time, and she appeared alongside Michael Douglas as Uncle Ben.

The movie's sequel however, was another matter entirely: Uncle Ben was gone, as was any love Field had for the project.

In the years since, it has come to light that Field only took the role as a favour to a producer friend in what she knew to be her last movie.

Talking with Howard Stern, Field also described the superhero sequel in a particularly scathing, if not accurate tone, saying: "It's really hard to find a three dimensional character in it, and you work as much as you can, but you can't put ten pounds of sh*t in a five pound bag."

Tell us how you really feel, Sally.
