The Tease

Quentin Tarantino's iconic revenge epic begins with The Bride (Uma Thurman) meting out bloody vengeance against one of her former teammates-turned-attackers, Vernita Green (Vivica A. Fox) aka Copperhead.

After The Bride successfully kills Green, she's confronted by Green's young daughter, Nikki (Ambrosia Kelley). The Bride then assures her that the death was deserved, but if she wants to fight about it in the future, she'll be waiting.

One can scarcely call Nikki a villain in this scenario, to be fair, because who wouldn't want revenge for their mother's death, even if they just found out they were murderous trash?

Still, The Bride is the unmistakable protagonist of this proposed trilogy, and Nikki clearly presents a huge obstacle to her survival, so for all intents and purposes, she's a villain (or at least the daughter of one).

As such, the set-up for a third film was clear, and one that Tarantino himself has since acknowledged, even suggesting that Nikki could end up being trained by one of the saga's few surviving villains, Sofie Fatale (Julie Dreyfus).

Why It Never Happened

Despite enormous fan enthusiasm for a threequel starring Nikki, with numerous talented actresses volunteering themselves for the part, Tarantino has repeatedly gone back-and-forth on the idea, and never fully committed one way or another.

Still, with the legendary filmmaker apparently set to make just one more film after Once Upon a Time in Hollywood - a claim that's admittedly tough to take seriously - it seemingly doesn't leave much room for Q.T. to get it done.

Then again, ending his career with a threequel almost two decades in the making sure would be an appropriate capper for his filmography.

But seriously, no matter how much fans want this, it's almost definitely not going to happen.
