9. Slow Slidings of Pleasure (1974)
A beautiful film to watch, maxed to the hilt with sensual imagery, Slow Slidings of Pleasure has a convoluted plot but at the same time it is marvellously constructed. The plot from what I can discern revolves around a girl who is being investigated for her flatmate's murder. They live in a building either across from nuns or run by them. The girl has a lawyer who falls for her charms. The film is devoted to the girl being on trial and flashbacks to the crime. This is all in non linear fashion. Definitely a case of arthouse meets exploitation, in the film we are treated to all sorts of sleazy/kinky/erotic scenes. The leading lady Anicee Alvina is gorgeous to look at - she is extremely seductive and in the nude for most of the film. Alvina covers herself with red paint and prints herself on the ground and all over the walls. She paints her flatmate's body and the pair get up to astounding things with eggs and doll mutilation. It is quite a complex film to get your head around and it is slightly pretentious but if you want no cerebral rejigging, just close off your mind and enjoy the film as a purely erotic visual spectacle.
