5. Suspiria
I had to include one Giallo on this list and Suspiria by acclaimed horror maestro Dario Argento is a perfect example of everything the genre has to offer. Argento makes scenes of brutality and violence seem like the most beautiful thing that you've ever seen. His films have also had a significant impact on the exploitation film circuit by showing that low budget films that most people consider trash can be high art. The way everything comes together in his films is his greatest strength. Argento's set designs are usually even more disturbing than his stories because they show a world that is twisted and terrifying which envelops the audience in the atmosphere of the picture. The German Expressionist style of filmmaking is a major influence on Argento and he uses it to elevate his movies to new heights

My favorite movies are Before Sunrise, Pulp Fiction, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Alien and Her so don't be surprised to see those pop up in my writing from time to time. I'm currently in school for Journalism/English and I have an obsession with all things cinematic on the side.
